My laptop battery is weak, is it safe to store it away and just use the charger to run my laptop?

My laptop battery is weak, is it safe to store it away and just use the charger to run my laptop?

I got a message that said Consider replacing your battery. I cant afford a new one right now. The one I have works but is it safe to give it a break and store it away and just run my laptop off of the charger? Will this overwork the charger or laptop?
My laptop is used alot btw.
